Pinus densiflora pendula or (Weeping Japanese Red Pine) Prefers full sun-part shade and lives in Zones 4-8. 1-2’ tall or higher if it is staked. Can be staked as it grows and if planted it's nice to steak them to around 6-7 feet tall for best effect. Trimming them so you can see the flaky red bark and twisted trunk is a plus too. Origin Japan A weeping form of Japanese red pine! Orange-colored bark! Pinus densiflora 'Pendula' a cascading form of Japanese red pine. Handsome, bright green needles are attractive year round and complement the orange-colored bark perfectly. Companion Plants: Goes well with Pinus parviflora varieties and Thunderhead Pine to name a few. Pictures show a couple of examples yet all trees are unique.
